I met Diane Woodward in the Spring of 2013. She was referred to me by two colleagues of mine, as I was planning for my retirement and the person who had helped me with some of my retirement planning had retired. Certain words come to mind in describing Diane: Integrity, honesty, dedication, patience, sense of humor, vast knowledge of the market, many years of experience in investment and finance, and an actual love of this stuff! Did I say patience? A true dedication to her clients, including planning for them if she were to become unable to continue her work. When I met Diane, my investments were pretty much a mess. The person in the public schools who I had worked with had retired and a colleague of his had taken over my accounts. Unbeknownst to me, the accounts were poorly invested, ratings had gone down and the investments had been more focused on the benefit of the manager vs. myself. When I said patience, I meant it. Diane poured over the 13 C rated companies, helped me sort them all out, contacted all of them, helped me with endless forms and eventually got me out of these accounts and into something more appropriate for me. As the years have progressed, my life changed in that I was surprised with an inheritance from a dear friend. That gift has made the difference between counting dollars each month to being able to treat myself to getaways here and there. Diane has been able to help me invest that money in a way that makes sense for my needs. I must admit, I’m not particularly motivated in learning about this business.
