• Growth is really good right now:The Atlanta Fed’s GDP “nowcast” suggests current economic growth is close to 6%; I don’t know if growth can get any better.
  
  
• Stimulus-led growth is not free:Stimulating the economy through fiscal and monetary policy can bring high inflation and high interest rates—which is what we have today.
  
  
• Uncertainty is higher:In Chairman Powell’s opening speech at the recent Jackson Hole Economic Symposium, he talked openly about how much the Fed doesn’t know. While honest, it’s a bit unsettling.
